Square in Belgium style
Model of Grand Place square in Brussels
The Grand Place or Grote is the central square of Brussels. It is surrounded by opulent guildhalls and two larger edifices, the city's Town Hall, and the Breadhouse building containing the Museum of the City of Brussels. The square is the most important tourist destination and most memorable landmark in Brussels. It measures 68 by 110 metres (223 by 361 ft) It is always Interesting and nontrivial format to prepare the model of UNESCO World Heritage Site as it demands from production designer team to be as exact as the dummy prototype is without any alteration and historical inaccuracies. The work on the model was split into stages as follows:
- We developed 3D project with the highest possible resolution concerning square details in target scale
- Next we utilised possibilities of multidimensional print we created façade parts, window frames, arches, stairs etc.
- Than we started to put all things together After all the buildings were assembled all the buildings were painted and aged texture was added
- To make thing look more real we added lights from inside of the buildings
